Troubleshooting & FAQs

Find solutions to common CVI installation, licensing and workflow issues, including troubleshooting guidance for Python, Design Spaces and Ansys optiSLang.

Experiencing an issue with ClearVu Intelligence (CVI)? This guide covers common installation, licensing, configuration and usage problems across CVI and its supported integrations.

For detailed technical guidance, refer to the CVI Documentation or contact Terra Quantum Support.

1. Installation Issues

CVI Python package won't install

Check that:

  • You're using a compatible Python version (Python 3.8 or newer, according to the existing installation guidance).

  • Your Python virtual environment is activated.

  • Your pip installation is up to date.

  • You have access to the required package repository.

To update pip, run:

JavaScript
python -m pip install --upgrade pip

For installation instructions, refer to the CVI Documentation.

Python cannot import CVI

If you encounter an import error:

  1. Confirm that CVI was installed successfully.

  2. Check that you're running Python from the correct environment.

  3. Verify that the required package is installed in that environment.

  4. Restart your Python session and try again.

I can't install or access a Design Space

Design Spaces are distributed separately from the core CVI package and may require additional licensing.

Refer to the Design Spaces Documentation for setup instructions.

2. Ansys optiSLang Plugin

The CVI AutoML plugin isn't available in optiSLang

Check that:

  • You're using Ansys optiSLang 26.1.

  • You've installed the correct CVI AutoML package for your operating system.

  • You've followed the installation instructions provided with your package.

  • You've restarted optiSLang after installation.

Compatibility with other optiSLang versions has not been validated.

The plugin fails to initialise or execute

Check that:

  • Your licence has been configured according to the installation instructions.

  • The required software dependencies are available.

  • Your workflow inputs and outputs are configured correctly.

If the problem persists, contact Support with your operating system, optiSLang version, CVI plugin version and any error messages.

How do I configure my licence?

The CVI AutoML plugin supports different activation methods depending on your operating system.

  • Windows: Enter the licence key during installation or configure the TQCVI_LICENSE_KEY environment variable.

  • Linux: Configure the TQCVI_LICENSE_KEY environment variable according to the instructions supplied with your installation package.

For the complete activation process, see CVI — Overview & Getting Started.

3. Licensing & Access

Where do I retrieve my licence key?

For security reasons, CVI licence keys are provided through the Terra Quantum Licensing Portal.

A verified Terra Quantum ID (TQID) account is required.

If you don't have an account, visit the TQID login portal and select Sign up.

I can't access my licence.

Check that:

  • You've completed TQID email verification.

  • You're signing in with the correct account.

  • Your licence has been provisioned for your account.

If you're still unable to access your licence, contact Terra Quantum Support.

I'm receiving a licence error.

  • Confirm that you're using the correct licence for your CVI product or interface.

  • Check that the licence has been configured according to the relevant installation instructions.

  • Make a note of any error messages.

  • Contact Support if the issue persists.

Please do not share licence keys or other sensitive credentials.

Can I use my licence on multiple machines?

Unless otherwise specified in your commercial agreement, your CVI AutoML licence covers a single machine.

For additional access or licensing requirements, contact Terra Quantum Support.

4. Workflow & Modelling Issues

My analysis fails validation.

Validation errors may be caused by:

  • Missing required inputs.

  • Incorrect data types.

  • Invalid or incompatible model parameters.

  • Inputs that don't match the selected Design Space configuration.

Review your input data and refer to the relevant documentation for supported formats and parameter requirements.

My model isn't producing the expected results.

Check that:

  • Your input data is correctly formatted.

  • The selected modelling method is suitable for your use case.

  • Training and evaluation settings are configured as intended.

  • The reported quality metrics have been reviewed.

For additional guidance, consult the CVI Developer Documentation.
