TQRouting is Terra Quantum's high-performance vehicle routing optimisation engine, designed to help organisations solve complex routing problems efficiently.
Available as a Python SDK, TQRouting computes optimised routes for vehicle fleets while accounting for real-world operational constraints, including vehicle capacity, delivery time windows, fleet availability and route limits.
TQRouting runs within your own environment, allowing you to optimise routing problems without transferring your routing data to Terra Quantum's infrastructure.
This guide covers installation, licensing and how to run your first optimisation.
TQRouting requires:
Python: Version 3.11–3.14
Linux: x86-64
Windows: x86-64
macOS: Version 14 or newer, Apple Silicon
Additional dependencies may be required depending on your operating system and integrations.
For full requirements, see the Installation Guide.
TQRouting is distributed as a Python package through Terra Quantum's package repository.
To install the core package, run:
pip install tqrouting --extra-index-url https://europe-python.pkg.dev/bright-primacy-486519-b9/tq-public/simpleOptional integrations are available for working with geographic routing data, including OSRM and Google Maps.
For installation instructions, optional dependencies and configuration, refer to the TQRouting Installation Guide.
A valid licence key is required to use TQRouting.
To access your licence information:
Visit the Terra Quantum application switcher.
Sign in using your Terra Quantum ID (TQID).
Select Licenses.
Your TQRouting licence key can be configured as an environment variable using TQROUTING_LICENSE_KEY, or supplied directly through the Python SDK.
For detailed configuration instructions, see the Licensing section of the Installation Guide.
For new licences, renewals or activation assistance, contact Terra Quantum Support.
Once TQRouting is installed and your licence is configured, you're ready to solve your first vehicle routing problem.
A typical workflow involves:
Define your routing problem: Specify customer locations, vehicles, capacities and operational constraints.
Configure distance and duration data: Provide routing matrices or use a supported integration.
Run the solver: Execute TQRouting to generate optimised routes.
Review the results: Examine route assignments, feasibility and optimisation results.
We recommend starting with the example provided in the documentation before introducing your own routing data.
